DESCRIPTION:Furthering its credentials as one of the UK’s most popular family festivals – as well as the world’s biggest retro racing celebration – The Classic at Silverstone is moving to a new August bank holiday date in 2022 (26-28 August). \nAs ever the record-breaking displays of privately-owned classic cars and unrivalled line-up of retro races from all of motor racing’s golden eras will be right at the heart of The Classic event\, with qualifying sessions followed by a programme of spectacular showdowns across three packed days. \nFeaturing the cream of Europe’s finest historic racing grids\, the races will be set on the famous Silverstone Grand Prix circuit\, which will also continue to witness massive parades honouring key marque and model milestones. \nAs well as enhancing its global reputation as the epicentre of historic racing\, in recent years The Classic has become a massive family attraction\, providing entertainment for all generations to enjoy at the home of British motor racing. \nWhile lovers of automotive nostalgia always revel in all the great competition and road cars from yesteryear\, others immerse themselves in the off-track festivities – the vast majority included absolutely free in the price of admission. \nFun fair rides\, crazy golf on the buzzing Village Green\, dramatic stunt driving displays plus a massive shopping village are now very much part of the supplementary show at The Classic\, as is the lure of live music from chart-topping bands. \n“By switching The Classic to the August bank holiday weekend we are expanding what’s already an incredible family festival to create a fabulous end-of-summer celebration\,” said Nick Wigley\, CEO of The Classic’s promoter Goose Live Events. “Holiday weekends are always very special and now The Classic will offer both petrolheads and fun-lovers a brilliant opportunity to maximise the much-loved three-day break.” \nSee Hamilton’s F1 title-winning cars\nOne major attraction at The Classic in 2022 will be Lewis Hamilton’s Formula 1 championship-winning cars. SUMMARY:One Water Race
DESCRIPTION:One Water Race\, a concept that aims to establish the world’s toughest endurance event\, will take place from 23-25 August 2022 in the Stockholm archipelago in Sweden. The event will see participants take on one of sport’s toughest challenges: a 250km race\, the distance of six marathons\, by running (200km) and swimming (50km). \nStarting at Arholma in the north of Sweden\, the first to reach Landsort in the south is crowned the winner. Running and swimming are the only methods of movement. There is a maximum of ten teams\, each team consists of three racers and a team captain\, with both sexes needing to be represented and be out on the course the entire time.
