DESCRIPTION:The Austrian Tirol region is expecting around 1\,400 athletes from more than 60 nations for the World Mountain and Trail Running Championships\, which take place in Innsbruck and Stubai from 6-10 June 2023.  \nWMTRC 2023 Innsbruck-Stubai features four competitions – Vertical\, Trail Short\, Trail Long and Mountain Classic – and will take in some of the most beautiful spots in the Alps\, including the Kalkkögel mountains\, the Elfer mountain near the Stubai Glacier\, and the Nordkette mountains north of Innsbruck.  \nThe world championships are the highlight at the end of a ten-day mountain and sports festival which kicks off on 1 June with the 8th Innsbruck Alpine Trailrun Festival (IATF). In the space of just a few years the IATF has become the largest trail running event in Austria and the third largest in the German-speaking region. Taking place at the baseball-configured London Stadium\, the games will be held on 24 and 25 June.  \nWhen asked about the London Series\, Cubs pitcher Marcus Stroman said: “Sick. Unreal. Honestly\, London is on my bucket list. It’s one of those cities that I’m going to hit when I’m done playing the game. Obviously\, I travel a ton. But playing baseball\, I’m not necessarily wanting to go to in November or the winter time\, so I’m glad we get to get there in the summer. I’ve had a lot of friends who go to London all the time\, and they have nothing but great things to say. Expanding the game to greater regions\, that’s great for MLB.”  \nIn 2019 MLB held its first regular-season games in Europe with the Yankees playing the Red Sox at London Stadium.
