Located on a private peninsula along Egypt’s Red Sea coast, Somabay is a luxury destination resort offering year-round sunshine, crystal-clear waters, and world-class amenities just 45 minutes from Hurghada International Airport. The resort is home to a collection of top-tier accommodations, including The Cascades Golf Resort, Kempinski Soma Bay, Sheraton Soma Bay, and The Breakers Diving & Surfing Lodge, each offering distinct styles – from family-friendly luxury to boutique surf culture.
A haven for active travellers, Somabay offers golf on a Gary Player-designed course, diving at its pristine house reef, and perfect kitesurfing conditions. Wellness is central, too, with the expansive Cascades Spa & Thalasso offering rejuvenation through hydrotherapy and thalassotherapy treatments.
Recent sporting additions at the resort include the new S Tennis Academy along with the signing of a partnership with ONEflow Soccer Academy to introduce a new football offering. Further cementing the destination as a leader in sports tourism, the new initiatives promise to elevate Somabay’s already impressive sports facilities with tournaments and training camps for guests.

S Tennis Academy
S Tennis Academy offers a world-class tennis training facility in the heart of the destination, allowing guests to train against the breathtaking backdrop of the Red Sea. Founded by Gilbert Schaller, Mohamed Safwat, and Hend Eissa, the facility brings 12 hard courts, four grass courts, and three clay courts to Somabay, making it one of the few academies in the world to offer training facilities on all three major tennis surfaces in one location. Offering a holistic approach to training, S Tennis Academy integrates tennis training with physical conditioning and mental agility to develop athletes who are primed for both competition and personal fitness.

ONEflow Soccer Academy
ONEflow Soccer Academy will bring premier football programmes to Somabay. It will also introduce its internationally recognised training methodology, providing a football camp programme that focuses on high-level training, discipline, and player development. Guided by UEFA-licensed coaches and football professionals, the Academy will give players the chance to practice their game in one of the Red Sea’s most beautiful locations, further enhancing the sporting offering in the destination.

Golf
Somabay is home to the highest-ranked golf course in Egypt. Designed by Gary Player, the 18-hole championship course offers panoramic views of the Red Sea as it snakes around the coastline. Guests looking to improve their technique can enjoy tuition from PGA professionals at the Somabay Golf Academy, where there is a private double-ended driving range for instruction. Alongside the recent addition of a floodlit nine-hole short course, there is a nine-hole footgolf course, 5,000 sqm short game area, floodlit driving range and the Somabay Golf Pro Shop and Café. There is also a second 18-hole golf course under construction.

Diving and snorkelling
At the Orca Diving Center, guests of any ability can explore Egypt’s underwater world with diving courses and excursions to 20 different sites. The reefs are a habitat for coral gardens, turtles, barracudas, and rays, and welcome occasional visits from Wally, the whale shark. Alongside the house reef, which is accessible via the 420m-long jetty, guests can also visit the renowned “Salem Express” shipwreck for a real adventure.
Breakers Surfing & Diving Lodge
The Breakers Surfing & Diving Lodge at Somabay reopened its doors in 2023 following a full-scale renovation. Promising an elevated experience while still retaining a relaxed feel, The Breakers lifestyle hotel’s 173 rooms and on-site restaurant have been transformed into a modern hub, offering an elegant boho aesthetic.

Kitesurfing
One of the top kitesurfing spots in the world, guests of all ages and abilities can discover and enjoy this exhilarating sport at Somabay’s 7 Bft Kitehouse. The destination is also popular with windsurfers. All kit is available to rent on-site.

Horse riding
Excursions with the Jasmine Horse Stable at Somabay allow guests to explore the natural surroundings of the destination from a unique vantage point. With both private and group tours available, guests can explore the desert, plunge into the banks of the Red Sea on horseback, or opt for a one-of-a-kind sunset excursion.
