Russia-Ukraine crisis: Champions League final moved and F1 Russian GP cancelled

Uefa has confirmed that Saint Petersburg has been stripped of hosting the 2022 Champions League final, following Russia's invasion of Ukraine. The showpiece fixture on Saturday 28 May will now be held at the 80,000-capacity Stade de France in Saint-Denis, Paris. In a statement European football’s governing body said: “Uefa wishes to express its thanks and appreciation to French Republic President Emmanuel Macron for his personal support and commitment to have European club football’s most prestigious game moved to France at a time of unparalleled crisis. Together with the French government, Uefa will fully support multi-stakeholder efforts to ensure the provision of rescue for football players and their families in Ukraine who face dire human suffering, destruction and displacement.” ...

Premier League and EFL confirm 2022-2023 schedule to accommodate World Cup

The English Premier League (EPL) has announced the dates for its 2022-2023 season to accommodate the Fifa World Cup in Qatar which takes place in the middle of the domestic calendar. According to a news release, the EPL confirmed that the 2022-2023 season will start on 6 August 2022 and the final round of matches will be played on 28 May 2023, when all games will kick off simultaneously as usual. One Water Race: a ‘new era’ in endurance racing and climate activation

DP World will become the new title sponsor of the European Tour group’s main men's golf tour from the start of the 2022 season. Inaugural F1 Miami Grand Prix to be held in May 2022

The first ever edition of the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix will take place from 6-8 May 2022, F1 officials have confirmed.
