The Chicago Triathlon weekend, the second leg of the five-race 2024 supertri League series, will be held on 24-25 August. Making its debut on the supertri League circuit, the Chicago Triathlon is the largest short course triathlon in the United States and has been running for more than 40 years. On Saturday 24 August the supersprint (0.23-mile swim, 6.2-mile cycle, 1.5-mile run) and kids races will take place. Sports tourism has been picked out as one of the top global travel trends for 2024, in a new report published by American Express Travel. Under the headline “for the love of the game”, the report reveals how sports fans, both internationally and domestically in the US, are “logging serious miles to witness their favourite sporting events first-hand”. The 2024 Global Travel Trends Report uncovers the “driving forces behind why people are travelling right now”, and “one thing remains clear”, they “intend to make the most of their trips this year”. The Croatian National Tourist Board and Istria Tourist Board have signed an agreement to become the official destination partners of the Machineseeker EHF Champions League – Europe’s premium club handball competition. The National Football League (NFL) has announced that the Green Bay Packers will play the Philadelphia Eagles in the historic first-ever regular season game in Brazil, as part of the 2024 International Games.  The Packers will face the Eagles – the 2024 São Paulo designated team – on Friday 6 September 2024, marking the first time the NFL has played a game on Friday night of their opening weekend in more than 50 years. The game will take place in the city of São Paulo at the Corinthians Arena, home to Brazilian football team SC Corinthians and will be each team's first game of the 2024 regular season. The men’s golf DP World Tour has announced its schedule for the 2024 season – which will include a minimum of 44 tournaments in 24 countries and across five continents. In 2024, the tour’s stars will also compete for an overall record prize fund of $148.5m, excluding the majors.
