2023 Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series: three new venues on calendar  

Seven breathtaking venues will feature in the 14th edition of the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series – including three brand-new locations for 2023: Auckland in New Zealand, Takachiho in Japan, and Sweden’s capital city, Stockholm. The season finale in Auckland will be the 99th stop of the world series, which launched in 2009.  For the second season running, Boston will provide the opening launchpad. The Institute of Contemporary Art, set against the skyline of one of America’s oldest cities, bore witness to a very special first chapter in last year’s fight for the coveted King Kahekili trophies. Golf: The Senior Open presented by Rolex 

Royal Porthcawl Golf Club in South Wales will host the The Senior Open from 27-30 July 2023. Presented by Rolex, it will be the 36th edition of Europe’s only senior major championship.  Northern Ireland’s Darren Clarke is the reigning champion after victory at Gleneagles in 2022. After four weeks of spectacular entertainment and intense cricket action, the men’s and women’s finals of The Hundred 2023 will take place at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London on Sunday 27 August. Cycling: 2025 Giro d’Italia – Tour of Italy

Taking place from 9 May to 1 June, the 108th edition of the Giro d'Italia is an annual multiple-stage cycling race primarily held in Italy, while also passing through other countries. The Giro is one of professional cycling's three-week-long Grand Tours, and after the Tour de France is the second most important stage race in the world. Spanning over 3,400km, this Grand Tour will challenge riders with a mix of flat stages, individual time trials, and formidable mountain ascents.  Marking a historic first, the 2025 Giro will commence in Albania. The biggest cycling event in the world will be held in Scotland from 3-13 August 2023. 5th KLM Aruba Marathon

The Caribbean island of Aruba will be hosting a running festival with multiple race distances in June 2023. On Saturday 3 June a 5k event will take place, then on Sunday 4 June there will be a 10k, half-marathon (21.1k) and marathon (42.2k). Known as “One Happy Marathon” the big Sunday event sees the full marathon start at 3.15am, the half-marathon at 5.15am and the 10K at 6.15am – this allows all runners to “finish on the beach” at approximately the same time. This year’s Fiba Basketball World Cup is the first ever to be hosted by multiple countries – Philippines, Japan and Indonesia. The World Games is a multi-sport event staged every four years by the International World Games Association, organised with the support of the International Olympic Committee.
