DP World Tour golf: new-look schedule for 2024 European Tour season

The men’s golf DP World Tour has announced its schedule for the 2024 season – which will include a minimum of 44 tournaments in 24 countries and across five continents. In 2024, the tour’s stars will also compete for an overall record prize fund of $148.5m, excluding the majors. The 2024 Race to Dubai will feature three new phases – five “global swings” from November 2023 to August 2024; a “Back Nine” from September 2024 to October 2024; and two DP World Tour Play-Offs in November 2024.  As in previous years, there will be the five Rolex Series events – the premium category of events on the DP World Tour. Golf: European Tour rebranded as the DP World Tour from 2022

DP World will become the new title sponsor of the European Tour group’s main men's golf tour from the start of the 2022 season. The new look tour will see total prize money break through the $200m mark for the first time, with a new minimum prize fund of $2m for all tournaments solely sanctioned by the DP World Tour.  In 2022, the tour will feature a minimum of 47 tournaments in 27 different countries, including new events in the UAE, Japan, South Africa and Belgium. European Tour golf 2021 schedule: tournaments, majors and big events

After a stop-start year in 2020, the European Tour is looking forward to an action-packed 2021 for men’s golf.  Announcing the 2021 calendar, the European Tour confirmed a minimum of 42 tournaments in 24 countries and 18 returning tournaments which were postponed or cancelled in 2020 due to Covid-19.  As well as the regular Race to Dubai events, the 2021 season will also include four Rolex Series tournaments, the four majors, WGCs, Olympics and Ryder Cup. The 2021 campaign will conclude with the DP World Tour Championship at Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai from 18-21 November. Golf’s European Tour heads to Scotland and England as part of second UK swing

The 2020 European Tour golf season heads into the final straight with seven tournaments and a major championship left to play on the schedule. Portugal Masters 2019: Thomas Bjørn to play in Algarve’s top golf event

European Ryder Cup-winning captain Thomas Bjørn will return to play at the Portugal Masters for the first time in four years. Held at Dom Pedro Victoria Golf Course in Vilamoura, the Portugal Masters will see many top European Tour players return to the Algarve from 24-27 October.  Bjørn, who led Team Europe to Ryder Cup victory in 2018, told EuropeanTour.com: “I have always enjoyed playing in Portugal.
