NBA and Formula 1 reveal promotional partnership

The National Basketball Association (NBA) and Formula 1 (F1) has announced a first-of-its-kind content and promotion partnership. This will bring together the global fanbases of both brands in celebration of the NBA’s 75th Anniversary season and the return of F1 to the United States at the 2021 F1 US Grand Prix in Austin, Texas.  To commemorate the US Grand Prix and the NBA’s anniversary, exclusive imagery featuring F1 cars in custom liveries representing all 30 NBA teams will be posted on NBA and F1 social channels around the world, with the first ten cars showcasing the central and pacific divisions. NBA at Walt Disney World Resort? The 2020 NBA season could potentially be completed with the remaining matches being played at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando - if and when coronavirus restrictions are lifted in the United States. The Athletic and Stadium’s Shams Charania reports that a number of “different scenarios” have been drawn up by the NBA, which has been suspended indefinitely since 11 March.   Charania tweeted: “One possible playing ground for NBA if finishing season becomes safe for league and players: Walt Disney World Resort property in Orlando, sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium. Charlotte Hornets star Willy Hernangomez urges NBA to host a game in Spain

Charlotte Hornets centre Willy Hernangomez has urged the NBA to expand its international series by hosting a future match in his homeland Spain.  Madrid-born Hernangomez and his French team-mate Nicolas Batum will line up for the Hornets against the Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA Paris Game 2020 on 24 January.  The 25-year-old is looking forward to the game in France, but is pleading with the NBA to start planning for further events. Milwaukee Bucks stars: NBA Paris Game ‘amazing for the sport’

Greek basketball stars Giannis and Thanasis Antetokounmpo are excited about returning to Europe to play in the NBA’s first ever regular-season match in France in January 2020.  The brothers will feature for the Milwaukee Bucks in the inaugural NBA Paris Game against the Charlotte Hornets on Friday 24 January at the AccorHotels Arena.  When asked about playing in the French capital city Thanasis Antetokounmpo said: “It’s amazing for the sport. We’re European, so we understand how huge this is, having a game in a place like Paris.  “It’s going to be really exciting for fans all over the world to come watch.
