Event in focus: The Ocean Race Europe 2025

The final preparations are taking place ahead of the 2025 edition of The Ocean Race Europe, which will see seven mixed-gender crews made up of sailors from across 13 nations take on the 4,500-nautical mile multi-stage offshore challenge. This year’s edition is built on the foundations of the inaugural race in 2021 and is held under the banner of “Connecting Europe”. Starting in Kiel, Germany on 10 August, the race takes the fleet around Europe, with stops in England, Portugal, Spain, France, and Italy, before the teams arrive in Boka Bay, Montenegro, around 15-16 September and the Final Scoring Race on 20 September. The Ocean Race Europe 2025 adds historic stop in Nice, France

The Ocean Race Europe, the fully-crewed offshore sailing race for the foiling IMOCA Class, will visit the Mediterranean coast of France for the first time this summer with a historic stop in Nice from 29-31 August 2025. Connecting the Baltic with the Mediterranean and Adriatic Seas, with races between seven iconic cities and countries, The Ocean Race Europe will start on Sunday 10 August 2025 from Kiel, Germany with the mixed male/female crews of the IMOCA fleet racing through the Baltic Sea and North Sea and into the English Channel for a quick stop in Portsmouth, UK from 14-17 August. From there, the race continues with a fly-by via Portugal (20 August), before entering the Mediterranean Sea en route to Cartagena, Spain (23-26 August). The Ocean Race 2027 to finish on the Red Sea in Saudi Arabia 

AMAALA, a new sport and wellness destination located in the northern part of the Red Sea on the west coast of Saudi Arabia, will host the finish of the 15th edition of The Ocean Race in the summer of 2027. Alicante in Spain named as a host city for The Ocean Race Europe 2021

The inaugural edition of The Ocean Race Europe will be heading to Alicante after the popular Spanish destination was added as a host city for the sailing spectacular taking place in May and June. The Ocean Race Europe: Genoa, Italy, will host event finale in June

Organisers of The Ocean Race Europe have confirmed that the inaugural edition of the sailing event will finish in Genoa in June this year.  The historic Italian maritime city (Genova in Italian) is already the home of The Grand Finale - the finish of the next edition of the round-the-world race in 2022-23. Sailing: next edition of The Ocean Race to start in Alicante in October 2022
