Tennis grand slams in 2026
The tennis Grand Slams are the four most prestigious tournaments in the sport: the Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon, and US Open. Held annually across Australia, France, the UK, and the United States, these events attract the world’s top players and offer the highest ranking points, prize money, and global attention. Each Grand Slam has its own unique surface and traditions – hard courts in Melbourne and New York, clay in Paris, and grass at Wimbledon – testing every aspect of a player’s game. Winning even one is a major career milestone; capturing all four is the mark of a true tennis legend.
The Australian Open kicks off the slam calendar from 12 January to 1 February 2026 at Melbourne Park in Melbourne. The defending men’s champion is Jannik Sinner and on the women’s side, Madison Keys is the reigning champion.
Next comes the French Open at Roland-Garros in Paris, from 18 May to 7 June 2026. The defending men’s champion is Carlos Alcaraz and the defending women’s champion is Coco Gauff.
The third major of the year is The Championships at Wimbledon, held at the All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club in London from 29 June to 12 July 2026. The defending men’s champion is Jannik Sinner while Iga Świątek is the women’s defending champion.
Finally, the US Open is set for 31 August to 13 September 2026 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York City. The reigning men’s champion is Carlos Alcaraz, who defeated Jannik Sinner in the 2025 final. On the women’s side, the defending champion is Aryna Sabalenka, who successfully retained her title in 2025.
