Stadium Golf Tour: play golf at Twickenham and other UK sports venues in 2023

A number of major sports venues in the UK, including English rugby union’s home Twickenham, will be transformed into nine-hole golf courses in 2023 as part of Stadium Golf Tour’s UK tour.  Starting at Sheffield Wednesday’s Hillsborough Stadium (25-28 May), the Stadium Golf Tour will also head to Leicester City’s King Power Stadium (1-4 June), Twickenham (8-11 June), Crystal Palace’s Selhurst Park (15-18 June) and the London Stadium (12-15 October).  Players use the “same club, same ball”, Stadium Golf Tour explained on its website. “Everything else is different – and more exciting. World Nineball Tour: new global pool event series launched by Matchroom 

Hailed as “a benchmark” for the global game of professional pool, Matchroom Pool has launched the World Nineball Tour with a minimum of 40 ranking events and a prize fund of at least US$3m.  Matchroom is looking to emulate the model that has seen the growth of the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) and the World Snooker Tour, both of which have more than £15m in prize money for the forthcoming season. Uefa Euro 2028: UK and Ireland submit final bid and reveal stadiums list 

The football associations of England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales and the Republic of Ireland have formally submitted their bid to co-host the men’s 2028 Uefa European Championship. As part of the UK and Ireland’s joint candidacy, the host cities and ten stadiums have also been proposed for the 18th edition of the tournament. According to a statement issued by the five associations, almost three million tournament tickets will be made available and the average stadium capacity will be 58,000. Turkey is set to be the UK and Ireland’s only rival to host Euro 2028 after European football’s governing body Uefa confirmed that the Turkish Football Federation has submitted its bid dossier to host the tournament in either 2028 or 2032. Darts: 2023 Cazoo Premier League schedule and venues confirmed by PDC

The Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) has confirmed the event schedule and venues for the 2023 Cazoo Premier League season. There will be 17 venues on the calendar, with events taking place on Thursday nights from February to May. The new season will start at the SSE Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland on Thursday 2 February and the play-offs will be held at The O2 in London, England on Thursday 25 May.  In a news release, the PDC also confirmed that the 2023 Cazoo Premier League season will retain the same format as introduced in 2022. Dates confirmed for 2023 Surf City El Salvador ISA World Surfing Games 

The International Surfing Association (ISA) has confirmed that the 2023 Surf City El Salvador ISA World Surfing Games will be held in El Sunzal / La Bocana from 30 May to 7 June 2023.  The games will serve as the second event in the Olympic Qualification process, with four slots up for grabs for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games (to be held in Tahiti). Cardinals to play Cubs in 2023 Major League Baseball London Series

Major League Baseball (MLB) will return to London in 2023 with St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Cubs facing off for a two-game series in the UK’s capital city. Taking place at the baseball-configured London Stadium, the games will be held on 24 and 25 June.  In 2019 MLB held its first regular-season games in Europe with the Yankees playing the Red Sox at London Stadium. The Cardinals and Cubs were due to play in London in 2020, but the series was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.  The 2023 London Series is part of the MLB World Tour, which will also see regular-season and exhibition games played in Asia, Mexico, Latin America and Europe through to the 2026 season.
