Formula 1 has confirmed its 2027 race calendar, with 24 Grands Prix across 22 countries and a record 10 Sprint events scheduled for the new season.
Approved by the FIA World Motor Sport Council, the championship will begin with the Bahrain Grand Prix from 12-14 March and conclude at Abu Dhabi’s Yas Marina Circuit from 10-12 December. Pre-season testing will also take place in Bahrain from 24-27 February.
Among the major additions for travelling F1 fans will be the return of Portugal and Türkiye. Portimão will stage the Portuguese Grand Prix from 18-20 June, its first F1 race since 2021, while Istanbul Park returns from 1-3 October. Portugal has a two-year agreement covering 2027 and 2028, while Türkiye has secured a five-year deal through 2031.
The calendar spans five continents and includes some of the sport’s biggest tourism destinations, from Melbourne, Miami and Monaco to Singapore, Las Vegas and Doha. F1 says the schedule has also been designed to create a more efficient geographical flow throughout the season.
The number of Sprint weekends will increase from six to 10. Bahrain, Australia, Japan, Monaco and Abu Dhabi will stage Sprints for the first time, while Canada, Great Britain, Italy, Brazil and Qatar will also host the format.
