Event in focus: Motor Valley Fest 2023 in Emilia Romagna, Italy

Emilia Romagna’s Motor Valley Fest returns from 11-14 May 2023 for a celebration of Italy’s rich automotive and motor racing history. The four-day festival takes place in the heart of the northern Italian region’s “Motor Valley” – spread across the Unesco-city of Modena and surrounding areas – and will feature a wide range of activities, events and test drives. Highlights include the re-opening of the Automobili Lamborghini Museum in Sant’Agata Bolognese (Bologna), as well as live music, food and entertainment throughout. Cycling in Morzine 2023: Tour de France, Bike Week and more 

Sitting at 1,000m altitude, the French mountain village of Morzine, part of the Portes du Soleil, has a wide range of activities and experiences on offer throughout summer. Not only is it a sporting hub, with the Tour de France returning for the 22nd time, but it’s also a place where visitors can enjoy nature and the great outdoors.  Unlike many other skiing destinations, Morzine has 3,000 permanent residents, meaning it remains a vibrant hub during the warmer months. Guests can make the most of 52 bars and restaurants, 34 hotels, 80 retailers, 21 chairlifts and cable cars across Morzine and Portes du Soleil, 200km of signed cycling trails, and 15 mapped mountain bike routes. Australia will take on India in the ICC World Test Championship final from 7-11 June 2023. Seven breathtaking venues will feature in the 14th edition of the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series – including three brand-new locations for 2023: Auckland in New Zealand, Takachiho in Japan, and Sweden’s capital city, Stockholm. The season finale in Auckland will be the 99th stop of the world series, which launched in 2009.  For the second season running, Boston will provide the opening launchpad. 5th KLM Aruba Marathon

The Caribbean island of Aruba will be hosting a running festival with multiple race distances in June 2023. On Saturday 3 June a 5k event will take place, then on Sunday 4 June there will be a 10k, half-marathon (21.1k) and marathon (42.2k). Known as “One Happy Marathon” the big Sunday event sees the full marathon start at 3.15am, the half-marathon at 5.15am and the 10K at 6.15am – this allows all runners to “finish on the beach” at approximately the same time.
