Rugby union: The Varsity Matches 2022 

The Oxford and Cambridge men and women rugby union teams go head to head at Twickenham Stadium in London on Saturday 2 April 2022. The 2022 Varsity Matches mark the 150th anniversary of the first meeting between the universities.  The first Varsity Match was played at The Parks, Oxford, on 10 February 1872 when Oxford won 1-0 in a 20-a-side match. The current men’s series stands at 64-61 in favour of Cambridge, with 14 matches drawn, while Oxford lead 21-13 in the women’s series that dates back to 1988. Tickets are on sale via Ticketmaster UK. European Taekwondo Championships Manchester 2022

Taking place from 19-22 May 2022 at the Manchester Regional Arena, home of the British Taekwondo, the European Taekwondo Championships 2022 is hosted in partnership with UK Sport, Manchester City Council and British Taekwondo.  Around 400 athletes from more than 40 European nations are expected to compete in the event which will see Para Taekwondo fully integrated into the schedule for the first time. Boxing: Chris Eubank Jr vs. Liam Williams

The ​​all-British battle between middleweight boxing rivals Chris Eubank Jr and Liam Williams will be held on 5 February 2022 at Motorpoint Arena Cardiff in Wales. Originally scheduled for December, the bout was rearranged after Williams suffered a recurrence of a shoulder injury. Eubank (31-2, 23 KOs) and Williams (23-3, 18 KOs) both lay claim to being the #1 middleweight in the UK and have “traded verbal jabs numerous times in recent years”, said event organisers BOXXER. Fifa Club World Cup UAE

The 2021 edition of the Fifa Club World Cup will be played in 2022 from 3-12 February in Abu Dhabi, the capital city of the United Arab Emirates. The 2022 NFL Draft will be held from 28-30 April in Las Vegas, Nevada, US. Steve Hill, CEO and president of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA), said: “We’re thrilled the NFL has given us the opportunity to host the Draft in Las Vegas in 2022. We plan to make the 87th annual NFL Draft an ‘Only Vegas’ experience football fans will never forget.” Caesars Entertainment will host the NFL Draft Main Stage, which will be constructed next to the Caesars Forum Conference Centre. Tennis superstar Emma Raducanu has been named as the new global brand ambassador of British Airways. The airline will support the British player and will fly her to tournaments and training around the world, including next year’s French Open and US Open and the Masters events in California and Rome.
