Qatar Classic: MENA Golf Tour returns to Doha Golf Club with new event

The MENA Golf Tour continues its expansion across the region with the announcement of the Qatar Classic, a new event to be held at the prestigious Doha Golf Club from 23-25 March 2026. The tournament marks the Tour's return to Qatar, where it previously staged an event at Doha Golf Club in 2013. It will serve as the penultimate event on the schedule, offering $100,000 in prize money and Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) points as players make their final push for Order of Merit positions ahead of the season finale. Doha Golf Club has a rich tournament heritage, having hosted the Qatar Masters on the DP World Tour for many years. The first ever Fifa World Cup to be held in the northern hemisphere winter will take place in Qatar from 20 November to 18 December 2022. A total of 32 nations will compete in the tournament, which starts with the group stage (eight groups of four) from 20 November to 2 December. Skiers and snowboarders who missed out on their annual snow holiday are being offered an alternative: the desert sand dunes of Qatar. 2019 Fifa Club World Cup, Qatar: teams, fixtures, dates, travel details

Fifa has released the fixture dates for the 2019 Club World Cup in Qatar.  Seven teams will play in the tournament, which begins on 11 December and ends with the final on 21 December.  Three clubs have already been confirmed for the Club World Cup, including the reigning Uefa Champions League winners Liverpool.  The Premier League side will be joined in Qatar by Concacaf Champions League winners CF Monterrey from Mexico and OFC Champions League winners Hienghène Sport from New Caledonia. Clubs from CAF, AFC and CONMEBOL will be confirmed in the coming months. As the Uefa representative, Liverpool will enter the tournament directly at the semi-final stage.
